Applications
Flexyshell technology is fundamentally versatile, designed to serve a wide variety of sectors where safe, lightweight, cost effective and scalable gas storage is critical.
But right now there is an urgent unmet demand for at least USD 2.5 billion worth of middle-scale hydrogen storage facilities of 1 to100 t H2. This demand cannot be met with existing pressure tank technologies, which fundamentally do not scale to the required capacities.
Flexyshell middle pressure tank is specifically designed to address this gap.
Middle pressure high capacity single tank is capable of storing up to 2 t of hydrogen at 180 to 200 bar with estimated CAPEX around 200 $ per kg of hydrogen stored. More technical details about achieving this can be found in Technical Appendix file.
Once Flexyshell reliable, scalable solution becomes available and known to the industry, projects that are currently stalled or downsized can move forward. This will not only unlock the existing USD 2.5 billion in latent demand, but also will drive rapid growth as hydrogen developers begin planning infrastructure around a technology that finally makes middle-scale compressed storage feasible.
While Flexyshell’s potential reaches many markets, our current development and demonstration efforts prioritize core application areas, for which we provide detailed insights and technical documentation on dedicated subpages:
-
Middle-Pressure, Large-Volume Hydrogen Storage: urgent gap to be filled
-
High Pressure Hydrogen Storage: next level of safety
-
Low Pressure, Large Volume Hydrogen Storage: safely store Hydrogen at relatively low pressure
-
Safety Shells: extra protection for hydrogen storage
-
Offshore Wind-to-Hydrogen Platforms: Integrated buoyant storage modules for floating green hydrogen production and marine renewable installations.
Each subpage digs deeper into the specific use cases, advantages, technical adaptations, and market readiness of Flexyshell solutions in these fields..
In summary, Flexyshell’s modular building blocks are more than just tanks—they are enablers of the hydrogen economy and next-generation energy infrastructure.
